Our Heroes

An American soldier stands in Iraq, looking out over the endless sand fields. He closes his eyes and thinks of his father, a soldier, who stood in the jungles of Vietnam, uncomfortable from the humidity, bothered by the bugs, scarred from many battles and emotional about being so far away from home and friends. Yet he knew his Dad stood tough, with fire in his eyes and the pursuit of victory for his country in his breath. He had heard over and over again that this was an unjust war that killed the innocent but he knew better from his “in country” experience. These people embrace help and crave for the freedom that the USA represents. His Dad was his Hero… He is our Hero.

He fights for the birthright of freedom born in our constitution.

He protects our freedom to vote, even though too many ignore than freedom. He is away from his family to protect freedom of speech, even though too many of the majority keep silent on critical issues because it might be bad for business or may not be politically correct. He knows that those who disrespect our country get the most press. It is he, the soldier, not the campus or ant-government group organizer, who allows those to demonstrate.

It’s the soldier who salutes the flag that allows the protester to burn that flag.

The soldier stands straight and smiles with a tear in his eye as he remembers his Dad who served with honor to protect our freedom. He is pledged to do the same. “Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they serve and protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for our country in our time of need.

Our American military personnel are our HEROES!!!
