The Perfect Lodge

I think that I shall never see
A Lodge that’s all it ought to be.
A Lodge whose members never stray
Beyond the straight and narrow way.

A Lodge that has no empty chairs,
Whose Master shows he really cares.
A Lodge where attitudes are never bleak
Where none are proud and all are meek.

Where members never peddle lies
Nor make complaints or criticize,
Where all are always fair and kind
And to all others faults are blind.

Such perfect Lodges there may be,
But none of them are known to me.
Yet still I’ll work and pray and plant
To make MY LODGE THE BEST I CAN.
